Grant Thornton’s global head of marcomms honoured for services to the Chinese accounting profession

The Greater China Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) has honoured Jon Geldart, Grant Thornton global head of marketing and communications, with a special award for services to the ICAEW in China.

"I am honoured to have been recognised by the Greater China ICAEW,” said Geldart. “I have found working with the profession in China to be hugely rewarding and I look forward to many more years of collaboration.”

"Our operations within China are well thought of by the Chinese Government as well as the ICAEW. Through our 'One firm, one China' approach we are in a strong and unique position to support our clients in a way that no other global accounting organisation in China can.  We have invested heavily to ensure we understand the Chinese accounting landscape and leverage this to effectively support clients across the globe."

'One firm, one China' refers to Grant Thornton's single and cohesive member firm approach in China, something that is unique to Grant Thornton and allows for the delivery of a seamless service offering to clients.

Geldart was also appointed by the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) as International Advisor on Brands in January this year. In his role with the CICPA, Jon works towards the sustainable development of accounting brands in China, both nationally and globally, alongside senior leaders from the top five national Chinese accounting firms.
